Ethos
A Visual guide to Aristotle's Nicomachean Ethics. Information graphics paired with original explanatory text make Aristotle’s work on ethics of virtue more easily understandable. Knowledge is the first step to the attainment of happiness.
Sonance
Album packaging for a German noise music record label. Each artist is treated as a specimine within the system and given a mark corrosponding to the type of sound they work with, reflecting how the musicians work with sound in the studio.
S1S2
Identity, signage, and event poster for the CCA graphic design studio. The signage is built to change with along with the changing student body that uses the studio, as posters incorporating the S1S2 mark are applied to it over time.
KQED
This rebranding of the local public media radio station addresses the constant dialogue taking place on the air and the conversation that it sparks off air while showing their progressive approach to presenting public media.
Level Three Review
A poster for the California College of the Arts graphic design Level Three Review. Triangle people represent elementary building blocks as well as a culmination of knowledge.
Knots
An analysis of the rock climbing culture lead to this exploration of knots as a metaphor for building upon our life experiences in order to reach new goals.
What I (Re/Un) Learned
A series of nine short essays on what I re-learned and un-learned about design during a summer design studio in the Netherlands hold together New Normal, a collaberative book based on our collective experience abroad.
High Zero
An interactive web experience for an annual festival of experimental, improvised music in Baltimore, Maryland. The user is encouraged to explore the possibilites of the festival both visually and auditorily.
Truth
An investigation of truth using responses to the prompt on Craigslist "Tell me something you know to be the truth." Anticipated responses were illustrated while the real truth of how people respond behind the anonymity of online communication is juxtaposed.
Typographic Oakland
A document of the forgotten Typography of downtwon Oakland. Old building facades in this neighborood are contrasted with the beautiful typographic specimnes that live as a result of their neglect.
The Art of Discerning
This 60 second film created for the 2009 R.A.W. Video competition explores California College of the Art's "Culture of Critique."
Trans/Form
Poster series for a symposium addressing issues surrounding preoperative transgender people. Posters exist in various forms of completion, reflecting the subject matter adressed in the lectures.
Cold War Kids
A concert poster for indi-rock band the Cold War Kids suggests the melancholic narratives that are told through their music.
Career Expo
Various materials were created for CCA's Career Expo, targeting both fine arts and design students seeking advice from industry professionals on their portfolios.
